I remembered something embarrassing the other day: the only true LBD I own is, in fact, a maternity dress I scooped up years ago and which, thanks to the extra length (meant to accommodate an expecting stomach), has ever since served as my main tall-ish LBD. However convincing it may be in look, the words “this is a maternity dress” scream in a loop in the back of my mind whenever I wear it. So, suffice it to say, I’ve been long overdue to refresh my LBD game with a decent, appropriately-tailored black dress to carry me into the holiday season and through the new year.
The Plunge Lace Little Black Dress from Long Tall Sally does the trick. The longer length and proportions perfectly fit my 6’3” frame, and the classic pencil cut makes it a flattering and timeless cut. The front pocket detailing adds even more femininity and peplum flair to the dress, and thus is a kind option for pear shapes—here’s to replacing any old LBDs that don’t quite fit as they should!
As opposed to trying to force or disguise an item as a tall piece, it’s much easier to be confident when wearing something made for your tall body. This is truly a tall-tailored, multi-seasonal, highly versatile dress that I will keep at the front of my closet—regardless of the fact that I am on a mission to pare down my closet in preparation for an upcoming move! I envision this dress transitioning well from fall to winter, keeping in mind that sleeveless LBDs are a classic holiday party staple.
I’ve raved about LTS in the past, so I will keep it short this time and just say that the true tall proportions of this dress, its comfort factor, and the consistent high-quality of the LTS dresses only strengthen my love for and trust in the Long Tall Sally brand!
