If you haven’t been alerted yet, Lands’ End Tall has released their new fall/winter 2016 outerwear line! My favorite selection of the collection is the Wool Car Coat (worn here in shade: Vicuna) which is perfect for those of you who, like me, dress like it is still 1955.
As a Wisconsin girl, not only have I grown up with Lands’ End (the company is based in Dodgeville, WI), but I have strict requirements for winter garb due to our tough winters. Must be cute. Must be functional. Must be able to handle a wallop of snow. As cute as it is, this coat is also tough: made of 50% wool, this coat can handle temps as low as 0º, which earns it a spot in my closet. There are rumors swirling around DC (where I’ve been living for a few years now) that winter 2016 will be one of record-breaking cold, so I have high hopes for this coat.
Until the snow falls—which I am perversely looking forward to, I’m shoving up these sleeves and wearing this jacket casually with lots of blacks and chocolates to match this gorgeous autumn weather. Paired with black, the look couldn’t be simpler or cleaner. The color and shape of this coat are so classic, it can be worn with virtually anything, and has, indeed, been kept on steady rotation in my closet.
A camel jacket is one of those staples that every woman should have in her closet. For any tall lady who’s had a hard time finding one in her size, this is a great option. I am so pleased with this iteration of the camel classic from Lands’ End because of its sturdy construction and warmth. And for the fact that, no matter what strange state my hair is in, no matter how bad the traffic or the stress of the work day, I look like a class act bustling around in this jacket.
Go check it out because, as they say, winter is coming!
