I love the color red, and it always reminds me of the colder months. As I have been transitioning to my winter wardrobe, one challenge I’ve found in selecting dresses is that the weather in NYC rapidly fluctuates, making it difficult to find a dress that can work into winter.
The Long Tall Sally Herringbone Flippy Dress has been the perfect transition piece for just that reason. The fabric is heavier weight without being too thick and the length hits below—or at—the knee, so this dress looks great with bare legs and pumps and equally nice with tights and boots.
Given that I am 5’11, I am on the shorter end of the Long Tall Sally sizing (the first time in my life I have ever been on the “short side”!). As a result, I think the dress was slightly long on me—so I would highly recommend it for the taller tall ladies. I also found it to run slightly large in the bust and hips, so would recommend sizing down if you are in the string bean camp like me. That being said, I also found the dress to be incredibly flattering and very comfortable.
The dress flares out a bit towards the bottom creating a nice shape but also making it easy to move and walk about without feeling restricted by a tight pencil shape. The “flippy” bottom also adds a little flair so that it is office appropriate but wouldn’t look too buttoned up at after work drinks. Overall, I think LTS’ Herringbone Flippy Dress is a great cozy, transition piece to add to this year’s wardrobe.
