To this day, every time the flash goes off, I have to remind myself to “act like normal Kacy.” Those who know me best know I have a mischievous streak—and am in no way afraid of looking stupid when there’s no camera around. My charge to myself is to be the person that my friends and family would recognize. Have a bit more fun when I’m wearing great clothes and shoes that fit—because fashion should be about the joy of wearing it!
When I wore out the Long Tall Sally Egypt Suede Lace Up Boot this past weekend—hot off the new spring collection—playing in them happened organically because they fit so well and felt so good! I have sensitive skin and bony feet, so a lot of size 12 heels literally rub me the wrong way. Not these beauties, in plush black suede. Where some lace-up booties can end up being less than flattering (shortening the leg line by cutting off the ankle), I found that the proportions of the Egypts to be muy elegante—and my legs are by no means thin. But for me, the best part was that I got a boost of comfortable, sturdy height from the Egypts’ block heel—so I got to wear the heel instead of it wearing me.
I say if the Long Tall Sally shoe fits—play in it! Play in the Egypt I did, much to the surprise of the dogwalkers and parents strolling their toddlers around. A visit to the park revealed the playground was empty. So in my new booties, Rag & Bone jeans, and leather jacket, all 6’7″ of me climbed the bars, slid down both slides, and swung on the bridge several times.
It made my afternoon! And not only that—my feet stayed happy too—no need for a back up pair of flats for walking home once the shoot was through!
Long Tall Sally continues to best their seasonal shoe game, and I can’t believe how many stylish, well-fitting options there are for the tall and large-footed among us. I can’t think of anywhere else I would find a wearable lace-up bootie to go with my distressed jeans and favorite sweater for a 90s-inspired weekend look, and with a slinky black dress and trench coat for work.
Today, be sure to check out my shoefie—and the other shoefies of some of my favorite bloggers, as part of Long Tall Sally’s new “If the Shoe Fits” campaign—which features tips and tricks to get a great fit, as well as features on the other styles in Long Tall Sally’s spring collection.
