Tall Summer Sale Round-Up: From Shoesissima to Talltique

July is a great month for bargain hunters—and the last week of July is even better for bargain hunters. Retailers have to move out spring and summer merchandise to make room for the fall fashions that hit the stores come August, so other than March (the month for nabbing exceptional deals on winter apparel), now is the time to stock up on the tall essentials that can get you through the year. Here, I’ve recommended top picks from the big sales, and how you can wear them now and later.

In upcoming weeks, look for posts featuring some of the items we picked up from the great tall sales running now, and be sure to share any other great finds in the comments.

In no particular order:

This chic little tall boutique is running a very generous sale right now, featuring an array of staples from made-in-the-U.S.A. design houses that you simply won’t find anywhere else. From candy colored yoga jeans to organic tees to hoodies from Prairie Underground, owner Helen cherrypicks the best small designers offering high-quality wearables for tall women. I’m particularly in love with the Open Front Jacket by Otis & Maclain ($50, down from $280). This cozy, wool-blend staple is an incredibly fashion-forward (both plaids and tribal prints are in) choice for fall and early winter, though can really be donned now on those crisp and cool evenings. Whether thrown on over a sleek jersey dress or cutoffs and a linen tee,  snap up this sweet little jacket before it disappears—I may have just unwittingly convinced myself that I need it in both colorways.

 Tall Couture:

Designer jean fiend? You’re in luck—Tall Couture is running a $49.99-and-under designer jean sale, featuring styles from Rock & Republic, Fidelity, Kasil, 7 For All Mankind, Paige, Joe’s and more. As a curvy girl, I tend to go Paige or go home, but the Fidelity Lily in Viper Rinse ($49.99) looks like an excellent choice for curvy and slim tall ladies alike, with a figure-flattering high rise, subtle bootcut, and shimmery rinse that would only serve to enhance gloriously long stems.

This fab UK brand—offering runway-inspired, high-end footwear for UK sizes 8-12, US sizes 10-14—is running their second markdown on summer shoes. For a comfortable, infinitely wearable, and unique shoe with year-round versatility, look no further than the Bardot Crystal-Trimmed Leather Flat ($56.36). In an embellished, rich blue leather, this skimmer is a prime match for slouchy boyfriend jeans and a prim button-down oxford now, or would be equally arresting paired with a brocade LBD for the holidays.

Samanta Shoes:

U.S. footwear brand Samanta is currently offering great discounts on their impossibly fierce and sleek heels until August 2nd—$50 off a $100+ purchase with “SUMMER50″ or $75 off a $150+ purchase with “SUMMER75″. My top pick is the Melinda in Burnt Orange ($74.95)—a mid-heel d’Orsay perfect for enlivening a sleeveless work sheath or a burgundy skirt suit. Bonus: Samanta shoes come exclusively in U.S. sizes 11-14, and wide widths.

J. Crew:

An extra 40% off clearance and final sale items, including many options from the tall line. I reviewed and recommended a handful of dresses from the additional markdown crop, but would be remiss to not recommend the Tall Matelasse Drop-Waist Skirt ($21.00)—a fun silhouette that combines the figure-hugging shape of the pencil on top with the figure-flattering kick of the a-line on the bottom. In four colors (including jade, shown here, predicted to be a top color for a fall) and a wallet-friendly price of $21 a pop, it would be perfectly reasonable to pick one up in each shade.

Long Elegant Legs:

Maxi dress sale, all maxis $49.99. Particularly recommended is the Chevron Print Maxi—one-piece dressing now, can be adapted to work later with boots and a denim jacket. Averaging a long, smooth 58” from shoulder to hem, Long Elegant Legs’ maxis come in a nice, diverse palette of solids and prints.

Long Tall Sally:

An additional 25% off sale and clearance items through Sunday—this includes clothing items and shoes. I particularly recommend checking out the footwear selection, which has been recently augmented with the partnership between LTS and Barefoot Tess. The TESS by Barefoot Tess Ella Bootie ($44.25) in black and sand suede is a particular favorite—ovely, comfortable, and versatile, with a walking-friendly, modest heel. There’s no reason why you have to hide away your boots come summer—the Ella is perfect for pairing with a floral skater dress now, or colored tights, a pencil skirt, and a fitted blouse later.

Final reductions at ASOS, up to 70% off. Currently, 181 tall items are on clearance at ASOS. Though many items (like the shorts, tops, and rompers) have limited wearability once the summer ends, the Tall Jumpsuit with Chic Racer Detail in Monochrome ($66.69) is a piece you can keep on donning—even to work, with a punchy, colorful blazer on top—as the look is distinctly refined for a jumpsuit. In addition, I recommend checking out the sale offerings from Danish label Ganni. Though not a dedicated tall line, the hems on dresses tend to be generous, as with the gorgeous, 90s-influenced Montparnasse Shirt Dress ($85.74) in red floral chiffon—a piece that begs to be worn with a leather motorcycle jacket and ankle boots (perhaps the Ellas?) come fall.
